How a repair price is made: call-out, labour, parts and VAT
Updated 20 October 2026
A fair price is one you can read line by line. Every Dashfixe estimate shows four parts, and you approve the total before anyone travels.
The four lines
- Parts: each part by name, at the artisan’s price.
- Labour: the time the job takes, at the artisan’s hourly rate.
- Call-out: the trip to you, by distance.
- VAT: the tax, at the rate shown on the estimate.
An example
A dripping kitchen tap, priced as an example:
- Parts: €15.60
- Labour: €28.00
- Call-out: €6.00
- VAT (23%): €11.41
- Total: €61.01
If more work is found
The artisan adds it as an extra, with its own price. Nothing is added unless you approve it.
Comparing prices
- Compare the total, not the hourly rate.
- Ask what’s included: parts, the trip and VAT.
- A low price without a call-out or VAT often grows when the bill comes.
